The "la Caixa" Foundation renews its commitment to the eradication of child poverty in Librilla (13/06/2018)

For the second consecutive year and since the City Council of Librilla together with the "la Caixa" Foundation launched the "Family and Child Support Program", the agreement between both entities has been signed, thus giving continuity and coverage to the families in a greater situation of vulnerability.

The good results achieved in the 2016-2017 period in which of the 58 families assisted at the beginning, 25 of them left part of the project for having improved their family situation, thanks to the complementary socio-labor insertion actions of the program , makes that bet is more than a mere economic aid to cover basic needs of food, but a true commitment to fight against poverty and social exclusion.

During the period 2017-2018, 42 families have been attended in total, 129 people, of which 60 are minors.

The Mayor of Librilla, Mª del Mar Hernández, highlighted the great demonstration of social responsibility and solidarity that the "la Caixa" Foundation, through its Obra Social has entailed with Librilla, "appreciating the great collaboration of the entity, that this year it is renewing its economic commitment with the Project, a contribution that is vital for its continuity "

For his part, Javier Aznar Marín, Business Area Director, highlighted the economic, structural and human organization efforts that Obra Social "la Caixa" has carried out throughout the region through the development of numerous programs, both its own and in collaboration with Public and Private Institutions, aimed at diverse groups that cover the social, educational, scientific and environmental spheres, "rejoicing the good results obtained in these two years of collaboration"

The renewal of the Agreement was also attended by Antonio García Bastida, Director of the CaixaBank Librilla Office, one of the fundamental motors for this Program to continue in progress and to which the City Council of Librilla, once again wishes its involvement with the municipality.

With the donation of € 8,000, which will be distributed as "checks-food", and managed from the Social Services Center of the City of Librilla among families with the greatest need, the living conditions of those families in Librilla are improved. they are in a situation of extreme need, endowing them with a worthy tool, since these families make their purchases of fresh food, with total anonymity, guaranteeing at all times the confidentiality of the person.
