On August 22, the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Mr. Miguel Ángel del Amor, announced through the media that "farmers in the areas affected by the hail storms of recent weeks will have their disposition 1,556 kilos of product for the healing of wounds of crops damaged by rainfall "
Librilla was one of the affected municipalities, having made the own Ministry of Agriculture, an initial estimate of 115 hectares of affected citrus, with a valuation of 672.934 euros in the damage caused in the crops of our municipality.
As of today, this City Council has not received any information on the procedure to be followed by our farmers to access such aid, being one of the information points closest to the people affected, information that can not be obtained in the Regional Agricultural Office of the Under Guadalentín to which Librilla is attached.
Due to the lack of information provided by the Ministry, this City Council has directly requested the Director to be sent all the information on the application procedure for these aids: official model, documentation to be provided ... to be able to transfer it to the affected people and effective those aids announced by the Government of the Autonomous Community.
At the same time, the Director has been asked to carry out a more exhaustive assessment of the damages caused and the crops affected in our municipality by said storm, since from the Consistory it is estimated that there are more hectares and types of crops affected.
Likewise, the Regional Government has been urged to carry out the necessary procedures for the declaration of a catastrophic zone.
