The workers, in the fear of losing their only source of income and because of the family burdens they had, accepted the conditions and harassment and even physical aggression, which they were subjected to on numerous occasions
Officials of the National Police have detained four people in the town of Librilla, who run a farm and livestock for crimes against workers' rights and against moral integrity for harassment in the workplace, about illegal foreign workers.
The investigations began at the beginning of the year, through the usual contacts that the Labor Inspection and Social Security of this Region of Murcia, carried out the Provincial Brigade of Immigration and Borders of the National Police, in order to verify the hygienic conditions / Health and labor in which would be working on an agricultural / livestock farm, located in the town of Librilla;
With knowledge that illegal immigrant workers would be employed.
After the initial checks, on the part of the acting agents, an investigation was initiated and it was verified that the workers were being subjected to abusive conditions in labor matters taking advantage of the situation of irregularity of all of them.
The workers, being in an irregular situation, had no labor contract and therefore were not registered in the Social Security.
The days were abusive, 15 hours a day, for a salary of 40 euros a day and in poor hygiene / sanitary conditions, carrying out their work of collecting fruit together with livestock in a state of decomposition ..

On the other hand, they were not provided with work tools so they had to look for themselves.

As a result of all these irregularities and the lack of training, it has materialized in numerous occupational accidents, such as cuts, phalanx crushings and even the fall of a worker, from a roof, when he was fixing it without any security or subjection.
They arrived to dismiss a worker for requesting a mask to spray
The workers' accidents were mitigated and hidden by the investigated, aware of the unlawfulness of their behavior, coercing the workers to lie in the health centers where they were taken care of.
They even dismissed an employee, responsible for the fumigation, when he protested demanding a mask, after suffering headaches and diarrhea at the end of his workday.
The investigated ones aware of the situation of vulnerability and necessity of the victims, were subjected to continuous insults and vexations, the latter, they came to translate into physical aggressions like pushes or blows.
The detainees are four men, Spaniards, between the ages of 20 and 52 years.
This operation has been carried out by the UCRIF (Unit against the Illegal Immigration Networks and false documentary) of the Provincial Aliens and Borders Brigade of the Higher Police Headquarters of the Region of Murcia, counting with the assistance of the Unit of Prevention and Reaction of the same Head and the collaboration of the Inspection of Labor and Social Security of Murcia
