The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), through the Commonwealth of Taibilla Channel, has tendered to supply works and booklets Alhama de Murcia (Murcia), from the Lorca-Totana system, amounting 3.1 million euros.
The work, co-funded by 80% with FEDER funds, guarantee that the towns of Alhama de Murcia Librilla and drinking water supply, as currently if you register a shortage of funds or if breakage occurs of the network would jeopardize the supply of these municipalities.
The tendered work involves the construction of a pipeline from Lorca-Totana making a pipe of 400 mm diameter ductile iron, and with a length of 7866 meters and connection works Alhama.
Also be built with a chest control and shutoff valve to regulate landfill pit channel flows Cartagena.
This will solve the potential problems of supply to the towns of Alhama de Murcia and booklets, providing two alternative ways of coming of drinking water.
The Commonwealth of Taibilla Channel, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, is to supply drinking water to 79 municipalities high Alicante, Murcia and Albacete, with a total population of 2.6 million inhabitants, which in summer is approaching 3 million.
