ADIF public company under the Ministry of Development, will work to modernize and improve in various parts of the railway Librilla-Totana segment of the conventional line connecting Murcia to Lorca and Aguilas.
The total investment, which is in the tendering period, falls within the chapter on conventional network improvements amounting to 352,255 euros '09.
The stretch between Totana Librilla and has a length of 20 km and recorded an average circulation of 65 daily trains in both directions.
Description of works
The main actions to be carried out are specified as follows:
Leveling and alignment in some parts of the road by heavy machinery.
Including the removal, packaging and subsequent location of the railway track.
Replacement of sleepers at different points along the route, consolidation and leveling.
Treatment of the fastening of the rails and additional work on components of the railway track
With this investment will be achieved by increasing the reliability of the railway facilities in regard to improving the physical support for movement of trains, resulting in greater reliability, improved performance and greater facilitation of rail traffic.
